6/21/2020 Sunday’s Sermon by Nick Perez

Welcome Home

Respecting Convictions

Romans 14:5-8 “One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. The one who
observes the day, observes it in honor of the Lord. The one who eats, eats in honor of the Lord, since he gives thanks to God, while the one who abstains,
abstains in honor of the Lord and gives thanks to God. For none of us lives to himself, and none of us dies to himself. For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s.”

Notes and Reminders

Dear Family,

It was so good to finally be able to meet together in person this past Sunday, June 14th. After three months of not meeting together in person, to finally see everyone who was willing and able to attend was a joyous occasion.

Ninety-seven of us met at the church building for just under an hour. We anticipate that as the weeks go by we will see even more members coming back to join the worship at the church building. We are resolved to continue to make our time together every Sunday meaningful and safe.

With this in mind, we continue to emphasize the need for social distancing when at the church building for worship service. We love one another and we know how difficult it is for many not to be able to shake hands or give hugs as they would like. Nevertheless, we ask that while you are at the church building you follow the social distancing guidelines that are in place while visiting with other members, sitting in the pews, and also on the building lawn and parking areas before and after service.

We also want to remind our older members that while we recommend that you stay home, this is not mandatory. There has been some confusion about this so we want to reemphasize that each person and family will need to make the decision for when they are willing to accept the risk of coming to public worship, taking into consideration their health and risk factors. Since more members will no doubt join us for in-person worship services, additional adjustments will need to be made. Specifically, in
the anticipation of more than 100 persons participating in on-site worship service (the maximum number allowed under current health guidelines), our contingency plan is to create an overflow venue in the Fellowship Hall where the worship service will be broadcast live.

Last Sunday went well and it was good to see many of you. We continue to make necessary adjustments moving forward. Thank you for your patience and help as we come back together.
